Ms. Martha L. Hammond, of Louisville, Tennessee, died Feb. 24, 2011, at the Willows, in Winchester, Tennessee. Ms. Hammond was the daughter of the late Rev. Emilio Ernesto and Maggie (Fairbanks) Cavaleri. Ms. Hammond spent her childhood living in many cities in Tennessee and Alabama: Birmingham, Chattanooga, Lawrenceburg, Oakdale, Knoxville, and Jellico.
She was a Methodist pastor and attended Wesleyan College and was a graduate of the university of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1966.

Mrs. Hammond taught school in the Knox County School System for many years, primarily Sterchi and Browlow. She was a resident of North Loudon Lake and spent many wonderful years gardening and welcoming friends and family to their lovely retreat. She was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church in Louisville. Survivors include: Children, Stuart (Marilyn) Hammond of Rockford, TN, Emily Hammond Watson, Winchester, TN, Susan (Tom) Church of Belvidere, TN, and Bob Hammond of Townsend, TN; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren who call her GG. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mrs. Hammond's favorite charity, the Holston United Methodist Home for Children, 404 Holston Dr., Greenville, TN 37743. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Grandview Cemetery.
