Five Generations

Mrs. Elizabeth Spinning of Mt. Morris was a visitor recently at the home of Mrs. S. G. Woodruff. Mrs. Spinning was the youngest daughter of Brightman Richmond, an early settler of Livonia, who in 1806 took up the farm where his grandson, Bradford Boslev, now lives. The farm has been in the family since that date. Mrs. Spinning is the aunt of Mr. Bosley, the great aunt of his son George, the great-great aunt of the son's daughter, Florence Bosley, and the great great great aunt of little Madolyn Densmore, the daughter of Florence Bosley and Floyd Densmore.

[NOTATION: Mrs. Elizabeth Spinning's maiden name is Richmond, NOT Bosley.]

Death of Mrs. Flora Woodruff.

The many friends of Mrs. Flora Woodruff were shocked on receiving word of her sudden death early Sunday morning, Aug. 20, at her home near Santa Barbara, Calif. While it was known that she was not in her usual good health, no one expected her sudden passing on.

Flora Bosley was born on July 19, 1859, in the town of Geneseo, the oldest child of Bradford and Matilda Bosley. When a few months old, the family removed to Livonia, Mr. Bosley occupying his grandfather's farm, now owned by John Robinson. Here Flora grew to womanhood. In 1877 she entered the state normal school at Geneseo, graduating in 1879. From then on until her marriage to Mr. S. G. Woodruff on March 5, 1890, she engaged in teaching. After her marriage, her home was at Livonia Center and here she was ever active in church and Sunday school, the missionary society and the King's Daughters circle.

She was also a member of the Livonia Literary society for a number of years and on the organization of the O. E. S. in Livonia, became a charter member.

Mr. Woodruff's death occurred in 1910 and for a number of years after, she continued to reside in Livonia, but finally removed to California, there making her home with her sisters. Several times she has revisited her old home, going from here last in February of 1932.

Mrs. Woodruff was a woman of high ideals. Always very fond of children and young people, she was always trying to give them a larger and better outlook on life. She was generous, a kind neighbor and a true friend to all.

She is survived by a son, William, of Andover, N. Y., two grandchildren; two sisters, Lucia and Fannie Bosley, of Santa Barbera, Calif.; three brothers, William of San Francisco, and George and Charles of Livonia; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 4 p.m., the Presbyterian Church, Livonia Center, with burial in Union cemetery.
