25 Nov 1950: Harry C. Yake, a former railroader, well known in this vicinity, died at 8:15 a. m. today at his home, 518 Maple Street, in Annville. He was 77 years old and had been ill for about a year. He began his career with the Cornwall Railroad, later employed by the Reading Company, the Burlington Railroad in Nebraska, and the Union Pacific in Oregon. He later returned again to the Cornwall Railroad as secretary-treasurer until his retirement in 1941. He was a former postmaster at Cornwall, a member of the Cornwall School Board and a past treasurer of the Cornwall Athletic Association. A member of St. Paul's Catholic Church at Annville, he also held membership in the Knights of Columbus, Royal Arcanum, BPO of Elks, Holy Name Society and St. Patrick's Society. Surviving him are two sons and a daughter, Harry Foster Yake, Annville, David J. Yake, Trenton, N.J. and Harriet Josephine, wife of Adam D. Miller, Annville; three grandchildren, and a brother, J. W. 28 Nov 1950: Funeral services were conducted this Morning for Harry C. Yake, late of 518 Maple Street, Annville. Following rites at the Thompson Funeral Home, 120 South Ninth Street, a requiem high mass was solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul Adair, rector of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Annville, officiated. Burial took place on Holy Cross Cemetery. George W. Almond, Robert A. Arnold, Dr. Andrew Bender, Charles V. Kiscadden, Moses B. Light and Gregory J. Yake, were the pall bearers. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. [Lebanon Daily News]
