28 Dec 1894: George Gregory Yake, aged 18 years, passed quietly away at the home of his mother, Mrs. J. C. Yake, No. 1023 Church Street, at 2 o'clock this morning, surrounded by his grief stricken mother and brothers. His death was due to consumption, which made its appearance in an aggravated form the latter part of last July, when he had a severe hemorrhage. He was forced to resign his position as manager of the American Bell Telephone in this city and accompanied by his brother, William, went to Colorado, hoping to return when his health restored. His condition became worse in the high altitude and he was compelled to return home, which he did but recently. Since his return no hopes were entertained for his recovery and his death was hourly expected. The deceased was well known in this city and had a host of friends, who will be grieved to hear of his taking away. During the time he was manager of the telephone company, he enjoyed the acquaintance of many of our best citizens. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and also of St. Patrick's Beneficial Society. The funeral will be held from his late residence on Monday morning at 9 o'clock, with services in St. Mary's Catholic Church and interment in the Catholic Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News]
