He was a native of Watauga County, but had lived in Johnson County for the greater part of his life. He was the son of Henley and Elminia Oliver Greer. Mr. Greer was a retired farmer and a member of the Union BAptist Church in Zionville.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lola May Greer, two sons, six daughters, three brothers, three sisters, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted today (Friday) at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Percy-Hux Funeral Home in Mountain City, Tennessee and at 2 p.m. from the Union Baptist Church. Officiating were the Reverends Bryce Barton and Bill Warren. Burial followed in the Union Cemetery.
Percy-Hux Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
