Funeral Services For Saturday, Sept. 3
Funeral services for Alfred Jensen were held Saturday afternoon at the Community Methodist Church, the Rev. Brown H. Garlock officiating.
Mrs. Margaret Wright was the (can't read line due to fold in newspaper) the organist.
Flowers were in the care of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Treloar and Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Rockwell.
Casket bearers were George Dohms, Paul Swanson, Vern Campbell, Ray Dahlberg, Donald Treloar and Sidney Walker.
Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
Alfred Jensen was born in Aalborg, Denmark on June 10, 1882. He was baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran Church of Denmark. He attended the schools there, and in 1902 came to the United States and to Iowa. He settled in Ogden, where he has since made his home.
On June 18, 1913 he was married to Miss Bessie Johnson of Jefferson.
His early work consisted of engineering at the mines; later he became a farmer.
For the past 3 months Mr. Jensen had been in failing health and he passed away at the Boone Hospital at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 22 days.
Survivors include his wife Bessie; two sons, George of Ogden and Wallace of Perry; two daughters-in-law, Colleen of Ogden and Mary of Perry and two grandchildren, Jensine and Mary Ann. Also survive several nieces and many friends.
