Service for Burton Lowell Davis Sr., 63 of 585 Finnegan road will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home Gouverneur NY. Burial will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Morristown. That service will follow by a praise gathering at the Knights of Columbus, Ogdensburg NY. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home. Burton Davis died Tuesday Aug 8 2006 at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, NY., after being ill for the past five months. He is survived by his ex wife, Beverly J (Wilson) Davis of Potsdam, NY., two sons, Burton Lowell Davis Jr., of Scotia NY., Brett Lynn Davis of Whiteville, N.C; two daughters, Debra Davis Suggs, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Michelle Ann Davis, of Potsdam, N.Y. Seven grandchildren, Nicholas Sutton-Davis, of Scotia, N.Y.; Ashley and Hector Rodriguez, of Fayetteville, N.C., Katelynn and Abigail Davis, of Whiteville, N.C., Taylor Caswell, Jessica Burns, of Potsdam, N.Y., three brothers, Alfred Davis Jr., of Watertown N.Y., Claude Davis of Gouverneur, N.Y, Fredrick Davis of Richville; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Davis was predeceased by his parents, Alfred Davis Sr. an Vaughn (Price) Davis, of Redwood, N.Y., a sister, Linda who died at birth; and a brother Wendall Davis of DeKalb Junction, N.Y. He was born in the town of Orleans N.Y., the son of the late Alfred and Vaughn (Price) Davis Sr. He attended Indian River School. Following school, Mr. Davis became a dairy farmer and carpenter. In 1973 he successfully competed Fort Smith Auction School in Arkansas. In 1974 he successfully completed real estate courses at Canton ATC. He held auctions throughout the North Country and became an antique dealer along with his brother. Mr. Davis enjoyed being with his family, traveling, deer hunting every fall, and in the last few years golf. He was a socializer who enjoyed coffee every morning while visiting with friends at the coffee shop and debating local issues.
