He died at his home in Richville.

He was born on 3/1/1938 in Redwood, NY, the son of the late Alfred, Sr. and Vaughn Youngs Davis.

He married Judy Ann Mitchell on 7/23/1970.

He worked in his early years at Gibson Laundry. He was a mechanic at Whittaker's Incorporated and also worked as a machinist at St. Regis Paper Mill. In 1971, with the help of his wife, he established Hilltop Farms in Richville. Later in life, he was a van driver for NY ARC of St. Lawrence County, before his retirement in 2009.

Surviving was his wife; a daughter, Trudy Marie Davis; two sons, Rodney E. (Tara) and Claude E. Davis, Jr. (Mary) four grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Clarisa and Hannah; two brothers, Alfred Davis Jr. and Frederick (Cathy); his mother-in-law, Erma Patchin, and six boys that he thought of as his own Harry, Dennis, Stanley, Larry, Maurice, and Leo Mitchell.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Linda who died at birth; and two brothers, Wendall and Burton Davis.
