MARSHALL - A. Rita (Dreger) Conklin, age 78, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006. Rita was born Feb. 11, 1928, to Clarence Dreger and Pearl (Figi) Dreger in Madison. She was raised in Oregon by her maternal grandparents, John and Agatha Figi and aunt, Opal (Figi) Hitchcock. She graduated from Oregon High School. Rita was married to Ralph L. Conklin on Oct. 17, 1946. Rita worked at Oakwood Village, University Hospital in food service and for many years at Motor Vehicle, until she retired. With her husband, Ralph, they enjoyed many years riding on Harleys and raising strawberries. Rita enjoyed sewing, cooking and her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Kathi (Don) Schroeder; grandchildren,Todd Vogel, Cheli (Jose Zamora) Vogel-Zamora and Seamus and Devon Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Driver and Cody Vogel; half-brother, John (Sally) Conroy; sister-in-law, Kate Sullivan; brother-in-law, Raymond (Bev) Conklin; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; grandparents; aunt, Opal; two infant sons; her daughter, Nancy Vogel; brother-in-law, Harry Sullivan; and niece, Sharon Conklin preceded Rita in death. Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, from 10 a.m. until noon at HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 605 Madison St., Marshall. The service will immediately follow at noon.
