OGDEN – Darlene Saunders Dodge, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011, at the age of 70. She was born on April 29, 1940, a daughter of Frederick Ferrin and Gladys Davis Saunders.

She graduated from Ben Lomond High School, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She married John E. Dodge in Elko, Nevada, and they spent many happy years together.

Darlene enjoyed crocheting, loved the Utah Jazz, and especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, John, of 45 years, daughter LeeAnna (Wyatt) Cole, four grandchildren; Brittany (Tyson) Thomas, Kristen Cole, Mandy (Chase) Syme, Brandon Cole, and two great-grandchildren; Aspyn and Cambrie. She is also survived by her brothers; Darrell E. (Freida) Saunders, Marvin D. ( LuJuana) Saunders, Dale L. (Beth) Saunders, sister-in-law, Evelyn Saunders, and her puppy, Sassy.

Darlene was preceded by her parents, brothers; LaVar Saunders, Wayne Saunders (infant), and her baby sister.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the team of doctors at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and especially to Dr. Harry Senekijian, and Hearts for Hospice for their loving care.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Friends and family may call on Thursday, February 24, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and on Friday from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m., prior to services.

Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
