Bristow Is Called By Death - Widow of Pioneer Merchant Dies After Long Illness Here Tuesday Eve. --- Mrs. Allie DeRossett Bristow, widow of the late W. M. Bristow, passed away at the home of her son, Frank R. Bristow, at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday after an illness of about three months. She was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Bristow was born in the fertile Grassy Cove section of Cumberland County, near here, and had lived her entire life in this area. Her husband, the late Mr. Bristow, was a successful merchant here for some 45 years and his business, The Bristow Store, now operated by his sons, Frank and Claude, continues to be one of the city's leading businesses.
Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Bristow was a member...Burial will be made in the Oak Grove Cemetery...."
