Funeral services were conducted last Thursday afternoon at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church for Mrs. Tennessee Ensor Leftwich, 87, widow of the late Luther "Lute" Leftwich. Mrs. Leftwich died Wednesday at the home of her son, John Leftwich in the Gentry community. The Rev. Chester Stephens, church pastor, conducted the services with interment in the family cemetery.
Mrs. Leftwich was the last surviving child of the late Capt. William Ensor and Florilla Huddleston Ensor whose large family included many persons prominent in the history of Putnam County.
She spent her entire life in the community in which she was reared and had been a devoted member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church since girlhood.
Survivors include besides her son, six daughters, Mrs. Vera Judd, Baxter; Mrs. Nettie Wallace, Silver Point; Mrs. Rettie Buckner, Boma; Mrs. Moncie Maddux, Cookeville; Mrs. Grady Jared, Detroit; and Mrs. O'Neal Blair, Baxter.
Mrs. Leftwich was a sister of the late Dr. L. D. J. Ensor, John L. Ensor, Mrs. Frank Ballard, and Mrs. M. H. Leftwich of Cookeville and Wirt Ensor of the 12th District.
