Memorial services for Katherine Miller, 83, Lawrence, were Saturday, May 12, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.

Mrs. Miller died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Brandon Woods Care Center.

She was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Whitewood, S.D., the daughter of Charles B. and Anna E. (Johnson) Barnes. She attended Lawrence schools.

Mrs. Miller had worked at Hercules Powder Plant in De Soto in the 1940s, and as a cook at Deluxe Cafe and Sirloin Restaurant, Lawrence. She also worked as a cook at Drake's Bakery for 22 years.

She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, in which she was regular pioneer.

She married Callie Dillon. He preceded her in death. She married William L. Miller in May 1952 in Lawrence. He preceded her in death.

A son, Donnie Dillon, died in 1967, and a daughter, Audrey Levon Pearson, died Sept. 11, 1996.

Survivors include a son, Danny Dillon, Lawrence; three daughters, Delores Bryant, Patty Hobbs and Margie Hopkins, all of Lawrence; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
