Milton Gallup, 85, of Springhouse Estates, Springhouse, died Tuesday evening at the Springhouse Nursing Facility. He had been in failing health for the past six years.
Former chief engineer with G. O. Carlson, Inc., Mr. Gallup was the husband of Helen Buerklin Gallup. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late William and Sadie Stone Gallup.
Mr. Gallup retired from Carlson's 20 years ago after 19 years with the firm. He had resided in Springhouse for the past six years, living in Thorndale prior to that time.
A member of the Olivet United Methodist Church, he was a former member of the Engineers Club of Philadelphia, the American Society of Tool Engineers and the Iron League of Philadelphia.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Dudley D. Gallup of Wayne; a daughter, Doris Surman of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services from the Robert A. Harris Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville, Pa., on Friday, March 19, 1982, at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery. At the request of the family there will be no viewing. Those who wish may send memorials to the American diabetes Assoc., 919 Walnut St., Philadelphia, Pa., in his memory.
