Jerry Lee Henderson lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday September 5, 2010.

Jerry was born in Lodi on May 11, 1947 to Robert and Edna Henderson. He grew up in Covelo and graduated a football star from Round Valley High School in 1965. He immediately enlisted in the army and served our country proudly in Korea and Viet Nam, and was discharged honorably in 1968. He moved to Chico in 1969 to be with his beloved, Marianne Clough. They married in October 1970, and welcomed their beautiful daughter, Leanne, the following summer. Their son, Nick was born in 1972 and their family was complete. Jerry began a career at UPS in 1973, and retired in June 2000.

In addition to football, Jerry enjoyed bull riding, perusing yard sales, and spending time with his family. His humor was often a welcome distraction, and his character and charisma second to none. He was generous to a fault, and as loyal as they come.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Marianne of Chico, sisters Claire Hurt and Betty Goforth of Covelo, loving children Leanne and partner Patrick MacKall and Nick and wife Rebecca of Chico. Jerry was the proudest "Papa Wheelie" to Maxwell Burleigh, Spencer Mackall, Jett and Luke Henderson all of Chico.

A day of rememberance will be held throughout the day of Saturday September 18, 2010 beginning at 11AM, place to be announced.
