Rites Thursday For Mrs. Tinney
Mrs. Mildred Maddy Tinney, 52, of Washington, D. C., and formerly of Glen Morgan, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in a local hospital. She was admitted to the hospital Aug. 11, after suffering a heart attack. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Monday.
She was visiting relatives here when she suffered the heart attack.
Born at Glen Morgan May 17, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Eldridge and Lucinda Rees Maddy.
She was a member of the Congress Heights Baptist Church of Washington and Miriam Chapter 23 of the Eastern Star.
She was employed with the F. W. Woolworth of Washington.
Survivors include one son, Frank of Washington; four brothers, W. B. Maddy of Hinton, John Rees of Columbus, Ohio, Earl Rees of Cleveland and James Rees of Stanton, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. Glema L. Brown of Mt. Rainier, Md., Mrs. Louise C. Miller of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Myrtle Dobbins of Stanaford and Mrs. Sybil Bennington of Newport News, Va., and a half sister, Mrs. Lillie Irving of Beaver.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Thursday in the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. H. U. Thompson officiating. Following the services the body will be taken to Baltimore where burial will follow Friday in Glen Haven Cemetery at Glen Burnie, Md.
Friends may call at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home after 3 pm today.
