Obit: Lottie H. Bowers, 70, of Anthon, died Thursday, November 10, 1988, at a Sioux City hospital. Services were held November 14 at the United Methodist Church in Anthon with Revs. Joe-d and Christina Dowling-Soka officiating. Burial followed in Arlington Cemetery, Moville. Mrs. Bowers, the former Lottie H. Kisting, was born January 5, 1918, in rural Moville. She grew up in the Moville community. She married Ernest Bowers July 5, 1937, in Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple lived in Moville, later moving to a farm three miles west of Anthon in 1947. In 1967 they moved into town where they operated Bowers Tavern until 1975. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, a son Gary, two daughters, Mrs. Darrell (JoAnn) Pierce and Mrs. Rick (LaDonna) Crilly, a brother Raymond Kisting, three sisters, Mrs. Alice Haggin, Mrs. Leona Yates and Mrs. Don (Gladys) Collins, seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominick and Martha (Byers) Kisting, a daughter Janet and a brother Charles.
