Amos H. Kercher, 86, Reading, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, in St. Joseph
Medical Center, Bern Township. He was the widower of Grace M. (Moody) Kercher, who died May 2, 1997. Born in Oley, he was a son of the late Ambrose I. and Lilly Mae (Hart) Kercher.

Mr. Kercher was a welder for Parish Division for 35 years until retiring in 1980. He served in the Army during World War II, where he was a POW. He loved playing cards and making trips to the casinos.

Surviving are sons, Dennis H. and Randall S.; and daughters: Sandra L. Haller, Linda M. Shollenberger, Bonnie L. Emerich and Karen A. Marshall. There are also 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grand-children and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.

A viewing will be in Lutz Funeral Home Inc., Mount Penn, on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with services following at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. www.lutzfuneralhome.com.
