New Holstein—John Seurer, 84, passed away Friday morning at his home here, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will e held Monday morning at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home and at the Holy Rosary Church, with the Rev. George Schemmer officiating.
Mr. Seurer was born July 12, 1861, at Charlesburg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Seurer. On Jan 10, 1898, he married Anna Mueller of Marytown. The couple lived at Wolf Lake for five years, operated a tavern at Marytown for six years and then started the carpentry and wagon shop business which was continued for 14 more years. Since 1920 the two have resided in New Holstein, where Mr. Seurer was engaged in carpentry work.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Adeline) Piper and Mrs. Emil (Rosa) Dumke, four grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Hubert Rieter of Mt. Calvary and Mrs. Laverne Herron of Jacksonville, Fla.
