Priscilla Elaine Schuster, age 90 years seven months, passed away in Eau Claire, Wis. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 as a result of a fall.
She had lived in Fountain Hills for the past 14 years, moving here from Steele County, Minn. where she had spent the rest of her life.
Priscilla was born on Nov. 30, 1919 in rural Waseca County to Clarence and Julia (Johnson) Verplank. She married Glendon A. Schuster on June 17, 1940 and together they farmed and raised a family near Hope in Steele County.
Priscilla was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she was an amazing homemaker, a skilled seamstress, but most of all she was a farmer's wife and partner who worked at his side with pride for almost 70 years. She was strongly independent, a rock to which all of the rest of the family turned. She was always a lady – in decorum, in dress and in demeanor, but she was a fun-loving lady who loved to laugh and have fun. She was our cheerleader, the one who thought we did "better than anyone else" no matter how badly we erred. She saw the best in everyone, recognizing their good traits and missing anything else.
She is survived by 3 daughters and a son; by her sister-in-law; by grandchildren; by many great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sisters Cordelia (Cordy) Utpadel and Marjorie (Margie) Christensen, and brother, Joyce (J. C.) Verplank.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, July 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Owatonna with burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Reception/luncheon at St. Joseph Parish dining hall directly followed burial.
