SANDERSVILLE, Ga. - Miss Mary Lou May of East McCarty Street in Sandersville died Monday, June 4, 2001, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, in the Sandersville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jimmy Cason and Rev. Wes McTier will officiate with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.

Pallbearers will be Steve May, Bill May, Aaron Frost, Eddie May, Dave Whitling, Kim McNeely, Jack Smith, Joe Sanders, Troy Epps and Tommy May.

Miss May was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late William Edison May and the late Maggie Leigh Killebrew May. She had lived in Augusta for 56 years prior to moving to Sandersville in 1995 and was retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Lynwood Division. She was a graduate of Wrens High School and University Hospital and Barrett School of Nursing Class of 1943. She was a member of the Sandersville United Methodist Church and the Friendship Fellowship Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three sisters, Genie M. Nunn of Sandersville, Priscilla M. Jones of Aiken, and Betty M. Key of McDonough, Ga.; three brothers, S. Frank May and James May both of Sandersville, and Hugh P. May of DeFunch, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, including H. Marie Powell of Dublin, Eugene and Jacquelyn Veal, Mary Ellen P. Davis and Virgil Powell, all of Sandersville, Derryl and Judy Frost of Riddleville, Glenda Rogers of Roswell.
