DEATH OF MRS. AMY GILSTRAP.
Mrs. Amy Gilstrap, widow of Peter Gilstrap, died Monday, 25 JAN 1909, at the home of her son, Lewis Gilstrap, two and a half miles south of Bevier. Mrs. Gilstrap was one of the pioneer residents of Macon county and lived in Bevier township nearly 70 years. She was a native of Kentucky and was born in that state in September, 1809 and was 99 years and 4 months old. She came to Missouri and settled on a farm in this township in 1840 and lived here ever since. A large family had been reared by her and she is survived by four sons, T. M., A. B., Lewis and George A. Gilstrap and one daughter, Mrs. Manse Garrett, and also a large number of grandchildren and other relatives. The funeral took place Wednesday and a very large one. The remains were laid to rest at the Antioch church cemetery.
