REPORT OF DEATH
AIRMAN KILLED
On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Britten, who have been resident in Port Macquarie for some months past, received the sad news that their only son, Pilot-Officer F. T. ("Bill") Britten, R.A.A.F., had been killed in an aircraft accident on the 29th of January.

Recently we published an interesting letter from Pilot-Officer Britten relative to his activities in the North African campaign after the advance of the British Eighth Army. Aged 29 years, the deceased airman was not known locally, but his parents are, and sister[s]... He was injured in an aircraft accident in the Middle East last year, but had been back on duty prior to and since the defeat of the Axis forces at El Alamein.

Friends will feel with the parents in their great loss, appreciating that 'Bill' has played his part nobly and given his all for his country in his last great game in life.
