Susan Massie Shepard was the daughter of James Franklin SHEPARD who died between 1900 and 1910, possibly in WALKER County where he lived w/wife and children. His wife was still in Walker in 1910.

Susan "Susie" Massie SHEPARD was married 4 times and had at least 9 children.

She was first married to a James Allen CHAMBERS 17 August 1910 and there were two sons, Alvin and I.M. I.M. CHAMBERS #65706745 in Willis Cemetery.

Next she was married to Jno. WILLIAMS 3 November 1912 and claimed two more sons, James Young and John R. James #1327262 is in Houston National Cemetery.

Then she married a Widower James Joseph BABB and there were 5 more children. James Joseph died April 4 1930 but she had already Divorced him. She was living in Walker County 1930.

By 1940 she was still living in Walker County, next door to her brother Alton, and was enumerated as SHELLY, Mary and living with her were two of her children John WILLIAMS and Zenia BABB.

Her brother Alton Lee SHEPARD died June 12 1974 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery. #54988423

Her older brother William Lafaett SHEPARD is buried in McAdams Cemetery. #52525088

So far no one has "discovered" her parents final resting place.

Massie's daughter, w/J.J., Francis Marie married a Samuel HICKMON December 20 1968 and can be found in Willis Cemetery #66134219 (she was previously married to a Starling Lee LARGENT and there were two children)(It appears Starling was born about 1921, TX and lived in Walker County; he remarried)

Massie's son, w/J.J., Leslie BABB can be found in Mt. Rose Cemetery, Livingston, Polk, TX
