Inscription

OUR FATHER. In memory of RICHARD TAYLOR Born in Mecklenburg, Co. Va. JAN 21, 1793. DIED In this County, JAN. 16, 1865. He was a faithful member of the M.E. Church, and the M.E. Church South about 57 years. Called suddenly at the bidding of the Master, he was not taken by surprise, one hour of suffering took away the power of speech. Yet with upraised hand and finger pointing upwards, gave the signal, "I conquer though I die."
