Paul J. Vinglish, 93, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Gallitzin, died Thursday at the home.

He was born in Frugality, son of the late John and Katherine (Swardon) Vinglish.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews from the Vinglish and Duffy families. Paul was the last member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes M. "DeDe" (Duffy); five brothers: Walter, Robert, Edward, John and infant Joseph; and two sisters: Annie and Rose.

Paul worked as a coal miner at George Dietrich Mines in Dysart and Revloc Mines and also had been employed with Piper Auto Body, Alto Glass, PPG and Mazzocco George. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a former member of Gallitzin American Legion and a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held this afternoon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Military rites by Gallitzin American Legion and other local military organizations.
