Patricia Smith Whitlow, 69, of Peterstown, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011, in her home after a long illness. Born on June 10, 1941, at Waiteville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Lyda Lafon Smith Ray. Patty was a retired employee of the Celanese Corporation with over 24 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Whitlow; a son, Chris Whitlow; one brother, Virgil Smith; five sisters, Jean Harmon, Toni Lomello, Sue Ballard, Gloria Bowles, an infant sister, Rebecca Ray; and a granddaughter, Clarissa Ervin. Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Fleeman and husband, Ronnie, of Narrows, Va., Pamela Ervin, of Morgantown, W.Va., and Amy Dunn and husband, Paul Ballard, of Peterstown, W.Va.; one son, Greg Frazier and wife, Angie, of Narrows, Va.; four brothers, Lonnie Spade, of Cummings, Ga., Raymond Smith, of Aurora, Colo., and Junior Ray and Joe Ray, both of Peterstown, W.Va.; one sister, Peggy Mann, of Rich Creek, Va.; and six grandchildren, Chad Fleeman and wife, Melia, Amber Caldwell and husband, Josh, Devin and Levi Frazier, Shaynah Ervin, and Gabe Dunn, at home. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the BroylesShrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, W.Va., with Pastor Jim Malick officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery, Giles County, Va. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services. Eddie Ballard, Eddie Graham, Billy Cochran, Josh, Aaron, Alan, and Logan Ray will serve as pallbearers.
