WINAMAC, Ind.—The body of
Pvt. Lawrence Herman Bleicher,
23, arrived here Friday. Military
escort was his brother, Robert,
who has been serving in the European
theater.
The two brothers along with
another brother, Louis, of here,
are triplets.
The body was taken to the
Kennedy funeral home where
friends may call. Military services
under the auspices of the Pfost-
Jones post. VFW will be conduct-
ed Monday at 2 p.m. at.the Ripley,
Gospel Chapel. The Rev. Russell
Fagner will officiate, and burial
will be in the Winamac cemetery.
Mothers of W.W. II will meet
for memorial services at the funeral
home Sunday at 2:30 .p.m.
Pvt. Bleicher is survived by:
his wife, the former. Barbara Mau;
the mother, Mrs. Bertha Bleicher;
four brothers and two sisters, Arthur
and Louis,of here; Robert,
in the service; Carl Griffith; Esther
and Gertrude.
He entered the service last Jan.
31 and trained at Ft. Bliss and
Camp Breckenridge, Ky. He was
sent overseas in June and his
death in Korea occurred July 30.
He served with the Second In-
fantry Division, 38th Regiment.

Saturday Eve. Dec. 29, 1951Vishal rites for Pvt. George Herman Bleacher, who was killed in Korea last July 30, were held Monday afternoon at the Ripley Gospel chapel, in charge of the service Rev. Russell Father. Burial was in the Winamac cemetery. The V.F.W. post officiated at the military services.
The body arrived in Winamac on Friday and lay in state at the Kennedy Funeral Home. Accompanying it here was Robert Bleacher, a triplet brother of George, who is in the Army and came home from service in Germany to be here for the services.
Pvt. Bleacher was born in Chicago on October 6, 1928, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Bleacher. The family moved to this county from Chicago in 1938. George attended Winamac High School and was employed at the Ford plant in Hammond before entering service on January 31, 1951. he received basic training at Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky, and Ft. Bliss, Texas, and was sent overseas in June.
The young man was killed in action July 30, and the mother, Mrs. Bertha Bleacher of Ripley, received notification the first of September. During his last furlough at home, he married Miss Barbara May. The body was buried temporarily at a U.S. Military cemetery in Korea before being transferred to the United States to be paid to rest in his home community.
Survivors include the mother; wife; triplet brothers Robert and Lewis of Ripley; five other brothers and sisters-Arthur of Winamac, Carl of Hammond, Gertrude, Ester, and Edward, at home.
