Louise Wood, age 87, of Berryville, died February 13, 2011. She was born February 1, 1924 in El Dorado, KS to the late Harold Delbert Cooper and Emma (Harlan) Cooper.

Louise graduated from Berryville High School in 1941 and on September 9, 1948 she married the love of her life, Dean Alonzo Wood. She was a homemaker in her younger years and later worked at Glick garment factory and Coast to Coast in Berryville. She was a member of St. Johns Hospital Auxiliary where she spent a number of hours volunteering. She also served many hours at her church, (Lighthouse Pentecost Church in Eagle Rock, MO) using her skills and talent in various areas. The church and...God's work... was Louise's whole life. She had a quick wit, always amusing family and friends with her funny sayings. Louise was an avid reader and enjoyed all kinds of puzzles, games, gardening and flowers. She was also an excellent seamstress. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family and was keenly aware of how blessed she was.

She is survived by her son, Leroy Wayne Wood and wife Phyllis of Omaha, AR; daughters Linda Marie (Wood) Tresler and husband Sam of Berryville, Diana Louise (Wood) Ramsey and husband Ernest of Harrison, Brenda Sue (Wood) Caivano and husband Dominic of Glens Falls, NY; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dean Alonzo Wood, in 1998; three brothers, Harold Norman Cooper, Billie Dean Cooper and George Eugene Cooper and infant granddaughter, Adrianna Caivano.

Celebration Of Life Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 19, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Pastor Jim Clay will officiate with interment in Berryville Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
