Middletown, Va. - Benjamin "Ben" Thomas Kline Jr., 52, died Tuesday at his residence.

The native of Toledo Ohio, was a retired avionics technician/flight mechanic with MSI/NASA at National Airport in Washington, D.C., and retired from the Air National Guard after 20 years of service. he was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Georgia Southern.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War where he achieved the rank of senior master sergeant.

Survivors include his wife, Martha A. Trexler; his parents, Benjamin T. Sr. and Laura M.C. Kline, Statesboro; four daughters, Julie J.K. Brett, Sandersville, Angela M. Kline, Pittsburgh, Pa., Jennifer A. Kline, Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Kathleen G. Kline, Middletown, Va.; one grandson, Nathaniel T. Brett; and two brothers, Clayton M. Kline, Houston, Texas, and Richard C. Kline, Lakeland.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winchester, Va., with Pastor James Utt and Pastor Calvin Lowder officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Richard C. Kline, Clayton M. Kline, Bryan C. Kline, Clarence R. Kline, Thomas D. Witt and Robert P. Belford.
