CALVANI FUNERAL
SATURDAY

Funeral Mass for Pete Calvani, 79, of 410 North Guadalupe, will be sung Saturday at 9 a.m., at St. Edward's Catholic Church, Fr. Hugh Rochkes will be officiant and burial will be at Carlsbad Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m., at West Funeral Home Chapel.

Born Sept 24, 1876, at Florence, Italy, Calvani died Wednesday at a local hospital.

A Carlsbad resident for 60 years, Calvani came to the United States at the age of 20. He was a farmer until 1917 and in the early 1930's began operating a rock crushing business on Dark Canyon. He retired about two years ago.

In 1917 he married the former Mary C. Kircher of Carlsbad.

He is survived by his widow; a son, Ralph Calvani, Albuquerque, three daughters, Mrs. Albert Boeglin, Mrs. W.A. Wheeler, Mrs. Elsie Weldon, all of Carlsbad, 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pall bearers will be Bill Boeglin, Bob Boeglin, Bill Wheeler, Jr., Everett Wheeler, Phil Weldon and Jim Weldon.
