Harold lived most of his live in the Somerset Township area. He was an avid gardener. He was a 52-year member of the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church of Eighty Four, R.D. 2, and a former member of the United Brethren Church of Marianna. Before he retired in February 1971, he was a cleaning plant foreman at Bethlehem Mine Corp., Mine 51, Elsworth Division. He was a lifelong member of the Woodmen of the World, Lodge 275.

On May 10, 1990, he celebrated his 52nd wedding anniversary with his wife, the former Pearl BLACK, who survived him. Also surviving were a son, a daughter, four granddaughters, and his sister, Mrs. James (Essie) Adamson of Vero Beach, Florida.

Five siblings had died before Harold: Thomas, Charles, David, Olive (Mrs. Helphrey), and Alma (Mrs. McCullough).
