Walter L. Miles, 58, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday at his farm home in Sheridan Township where he lived the past four years. He formerly had lived in Cherokee.
He was Born July 1910 in Cherokee and was married to
Josie Geasland in November 1932. On May 10, 1963, he was
married to Charlotte Booth.
For the past 15 years, he had been employed with the Cherokee County maintenance department. He was a member of the Frat-ernal Order of Eagles.
Survivors are his wife, Char-lotte, five daughters, Mrs. Eldon Larson of Pauline, Mrs. Ivan McKee, Excel, S.D., Mrs. Roy LaFrentz, Quince, Mrs Fred Booher, Cherokee, and Mrs. Charles Neville, ILL., three sons Walter Miles Jr. St. Paul, Minn. William of Commercial City, Colo. and Cpl John Miles Camp Pendleton, Calf. four Stepsons Emery Booth, Hous-ton, TX Clifford Booth Cher-okee, James E. of Newton, and LeRoy, Cherokee; and one step-daughter Mrs. Everett Sunken-berg, Spencer, 25 grandchildren and one step-great grandson. Two sisters, Mrs. Kay White
and Walter Lindgaard, both Lamoni, IA and three broth-ers, Albert, Roy, and Fred Miles, all of Cherokee, also survive.
His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday from Boothby Funer-al home Burial Will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
