Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Dale. They had been married for over 50 years. They had called Wenatchee their home for many years.
Mary Jane had first come to Wenatchee to visit her grandparents at Middleton Orchards in the 30s. Dale and Mary Jane maintained homes in Tuscon, AZ and Wenatchee after retiring from United States Agency for International Development, serving in Afghanistan, Brazil and Panama.
Mary Jane was an officer in the Navy during W.W. II. She enjoyed international travel and in her later years, traveled extensively in the United States, always meeting and making new friends.
She is survived by her sister, Mae Lerane Carlson of Sioux City, IA; her four sons, Glenn Earl Curtis of Los Angeles, CA, Robert Dale Curtis, Thomas Alva Curtis, Timothy Paul Curtis, all of Wenatchee.
Mary Jane spent a loving Christmas with her family and saw her great-grandchild who was born on Dec. 22, 2001.
There will be a viewing on Friday, Jan. 4, 2002 at Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee and the funeral will be held in Cherokee, IA where the burial will be at the Curtis Family Plot.
