Born March 16, 1921 in Pulaski, Va. he was the son of the late Frederick A. Seagle and Mabel Carson Seagle. Oscar was a Veteran of W.W.II having served in the Army in the 797th Field Artillery Battalion which operated in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski, Va. having served on the administrative board of trustees, church building maintenance committee, Chancel Choir and the Men's Chorus. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, a funding member of the Conneaut Lake, PA Fire Department, a member of the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley, the Pulaski Elks Club#1067, the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #239, A.F.&A.M., The Royal Arch Masonic Lodge #35 of Batavia, N.Y., a member of the Scottish Rite Lodge of Roanoke, Va., a member of theEastern Star, and a former member of the Pennsylvania State Police. Oscar was very actively involved with the committee overseeing the developmentof Pulaski's Historical Museum. He was most humble and proud of his families funeral service heritage to the citizens of Southwest Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Dorothy Vance Seagle: sisters; Mrs. Andrew "Irs" Smith and Mrs. Woodson "Colleen" Cummings: brother; Frederick Gray Seagle. He is survived by his wife, Mickey Whitaker Jackson Seagle: a daughter; Saundra Bennett and Fiance Bill Booth of LaPlace, LA: a son; Vance Lyle Seagle and Fiance Shelley Goshorn of Henderson, NV. Also survived by three grandchildren; Lynne L. Cassaro and her husband Marc of Hammond, LA, Mark Lyle Seagle and his wife Leslie of Tampa, FL, and Carson W. Seagle of Henley Beach, Austalia. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation and Services
Funeral services were held Monday December 5, 2005 ate 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, Va. Visiting was the evening before at the Seagle Funeral Home.
