Mrs. Effie Hale Dies in Oklahoma
Effie Cora Gilbreath was born in Rockwood, Ill., on November 18, 1870, and passed away in Blackwell, Okla., on February 18, 1946 at the age of 75 years and three months.
She was united in marriage to Will A. Hale in Delphos, Kansas, on December 8, 1897. Mr. Hale passed away on June 15, 1939. To them were born three children, a son, Dana, who was born in January 1900 and passed away as a young man while in medical college; Mildred passed away while a child, and Mrs. Francis York of Las Vegas, Nevada, who was unable to be present because of illness.
Mrs. Hale united with the Delphos Presbyterian Church on April 5, 1908. She left about a year ago to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Margaret Goold, where she became ill and passed away.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Hale is survived by three sisters and a brother.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church, Wednesday morning, at 10 o'clock with Rev. D.H. Mergler in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Wendell Wilkins and Mrs. Maude Warren with Mrs. H.R. Harmon at the piano. Pallbearers were Blake Ferris, Alva Adams, Jack Ellison, E.R. Colton, Ray Everley, and Dr. W.E. Casey. Burial was in the Delphos Cemetery and Hartley Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
