Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the West Side District Cemetery, for Carter Langdon, 72, who died Wednesday in a Sepulveda hospital following a long illness. Conducting the services will be the Taft Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. The Taft Elks Lodge No. 1527 will also participate.

Mr. Langdon was born in Bennion, Utah, on October 21, 1911. He was a resident of Taft since 1946, and was a retired welder of Mobil Oil Company for whom he worked for 35 years. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy for the duration. Mr. Langdon was a member of the Taft Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Taft Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, and a life member of the Taft Elks Lodge No. 1527.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Saphronia Ellen Thompson of Murray, Utah, and Ruth Clifford of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may pay their respects at the Erickson & Brown Funeral home until 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Carter Larcus Langdon is the son of Clifford Andrew Langdon and Sophronia Ellen Turnbow (Carter) Langdon. He is the fifth of their seven children and the first of two sons.

He is the grandson of Larcus Andrew Langdon & Johanna Daley Langdon and William Thomas Carter & Sophronia Ellen Lenore Hart Turnbow.

He is the brother to Faye, Laura_Hannah, Elgina Carter, Saphronia Ellen, William_Clifford, and Ruth.

He married (1st) Phyllis Verl Warr in Salt Lake County, Utah; divorced in 1945 after WW II and (2nd) Fern Iva Richards in Taft, Kern County, California.
