Marva Joy O'Neal passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at a local medical center. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Thursday February 10, 2011 at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St, with Tom Thomas officiating.
Marva was born October 31, 1930 in Levelland, Texas to Marvin and Glee Conatser. She married Charles O'Neal in 1948. Her love of music encouraged her to play the piano and the organ. She was also an avid reader, as well as teaching aerobics classes for ten years. Employed by Petro Thermal, she was a legal secretary for 16 years. Marva loved to spend time with her family and was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Hobbs, NM.
Preceding her in death are a son, Craig O'Neal and a daughter, Darian LaJune O'Neal.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Charles O'Neal; a son, Kelly O'Neal of Marietta, OK; a daughter, Marilyn Thomas and husband, Tom of Abilene; a brother, Dolan Conatser of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Nell Sloan of Munday, TX, Darlene Melton and Fran Dunn, both of Levelland, TX; grandchildren, Shannon Bryan and husband Tony, Staci Thomas, Ian O'Neal and wife Kari, and Michael Thomas; great-grandchildren, Courtney Butler and husband Greg, Tanner and Conner O'Neal; and a great-great-granddaughter, Dannie Butler.
