William Jr. first married Sarah Ann Deemer, on 6 July 1841, in Decatur County, Indiana. She was born on 27 August 1822, and her parents were James Deemer and Abigail Hewey. William Jr. and Sarah had at least five children: Annaretta (born 4 January 1844); Mary Alice (born 6 May 1848); David D. (born 11 January 1850); James R. (born 26 September 1852); and Rachel Elizabeth (born 12 May 1859).

Around 1855, William Jr. and Sarah moved to Enfield, Illinois. But Sarah died there, on 8 May 1866. William Jr. got remarried to Catherine Fisher, on 15 December 1866. She was born about 1821, in Indiana, and her parents were James Fisher and Katherine Ely. William Jr. became a physician. He died on 10 November 1880, in Enfield, and he was buried in the Enfield Cemetery. His widow Catherine then moved in with his daughter Annaretta, her husband, James Richardson, and their children. They lived next door to George Lough and his family, who was a son of William’s sister Elizabeth and her husband, James Hamilton Lough. Catherine died sometime after 1900.
