Martin enlisted on October 8, 1861 at Pass Christian, Mississippi for 1 year. He and his brother Wilkin were in a Confederate hospital for all of July, 1862. They recovered and returned to this regiment. Martin was killed on November 30, 1864. Wilkin was severely wounded in the left thigh. He was captured in a Franklin Confederate Hospital on December 17, 1864. He was sent to Camp Chase, Ohio Prisoner of War Camp and died there on March 6, 1865 of disease. He is buried there in Prison Grave #1774.
