Inscription

Albert C. Stone
1879 - 1952

Note: Albert Clyde Stone's Sept. 12, 1918 WWI draft registration says he was b. Apr. 8, 1879, which is an error. In his mother's 1891 widow's Union Army Pension application the Justice of the Peace who prepared the application at Aurora, MO wrote that Albert was b. Apr. 8, 1878. That meant Albert was b. 17 months after his father died, thus he could not have been John Nimrod Stone's son. By supplemetal affidavit in 1894 at Webber Falls in the Cherokee Indian Territory, a different Justice of the Peace personally read his mother Prudence's bible, which stated that Albert was b. Apr. 8, 1876 while his father was still living.
