The following was taken from the Mar. 3, 1949 edition of THE STATESVILLE DAILY RECORD:
Infant Moore is Taken by death - Lonnie James Moore, 22-months old son of Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Moore of Bethany, died at his home at 7:30 p.m. yesterday after a brief illness.
Surviving are the father and mother, the former Sarah Mae Speece of Statesville, route 5, three brothers, John William, George Richard, and N. E. Moore, Jr., all of the home; and three sisters, Mrs. Ivey Lambert of Statesville, route 2, and Misses Minnie Bell and Polly Mae Moore of the home.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South River Baptist church Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. R. R. Cook officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will remain at Johnson Funeral home until the hour of service.
