ROBERT C. BROWN
Clearfield - Robert Carlson Brown, 70, of 1179 S. 1075 East, died today, August 26, 1977, in the McKay Hospital of a heart attack.
He was born June 28, 1907 in West Jordan, a son of Elbert Thomas and Helma Anita Larson Brown.
He was married to Dessey Imogene Boyer. They were later divorced.
He married Sarah 'Sally' J. Smith on May 7, 1948 in Ogden. The marriage was solemnized in the LDS Logan Temple July 18, 1950.
He had served with the U. S. Navy for 22 years, retiring in 1946. He worked at the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot for 13 years and Hill Air Force Base for 10 years, retiring in 1972.
He served in World War II and the Korean War as a chief machinist mate.
He had lived the past 13 years in Clearfield and had been an LDS ward clerk and in the elders' quorum presidency. He was a member of the Clearfield 11th ward where he was secretary of the high priest quorum and a home teacher at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association No. 185.
Surviving are his widow of Clearfield, one son and two daughters, Robert William Brown of Clearfield, Mrs. Glenn (Anita) Luther of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Steven (Susan) Major of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; two brothers, Shirley H. Brown of Coronado, Calif. and Jay T. Brown of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be Monday at 12 noon in the Lindquist Clearfield Mortuary with Bishop Evan P. Lyman officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday an hour prior to services. Burial in the Midvale City Cemetery with military honors accorded.
