GABLE "GABE, THE BARBEQUE MAN" LEE THOMAS
Funeral services for Mr. Gable "Gabe" Lee Thomas, 70, of Lufkin, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the New Zion Baptist Church. Pastor Cedric Kenebrew, Rev. H. E. Fowler, Sr. and Rev. Aaron Branson, Jr. will officiate, and burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas was born April 21, 1927 in Farmersville, Louisiana and resided in Lufkin most of his life. He died Monday, July 21, 1997 in a Lufkin hospital.

He was a retired employee of Ralph New Motor Company and former employee of Brookshire Brothers Warehouse and City Motors. He was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church where he served faithfully as an usher.
