HENDERSON — John Edward "Rock" Mann III, 51, of 434 Lightwood Lane, Henderson, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill. Born in Fredericksburg, Va., he was the son of John Edward Mann Jr. and Norma Hughes Mann of Henderson.
He was a truck driver, a veteran of the United States Marines and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at St. John's Episcopal Church. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Lisa Starnes Mann; a daughter, Ashley Nicole Mann of Henderson; a son, John Thomas "J.T." Mann of Henderson; two sisters, Kimberly M. Twisdale of Henderson and Angela M. Kearney of Louisburg; a brother, Stacy Kevin "Kip" Mann of Henderson; and a granddaughter.
Flowers are omitted. Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 974, Henderson, N.C., 27536.
