A memorial service with Military Honors will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Nancy Allison.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly M. Twisdale (Lee) of Townsville; his son, Stacy Mann (Wanda) of Pelham; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Mann of Middleburg; brother-in-law, Frank Edwards of Middleburg; seven grandchildren, Kelly Twisdale, Laura Breese, J. T. Mann, Megan Woodlief (Graham), Ashley Matthews (Justin), Hannah Kearney, and Celia Mann; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela M. Kearney; one son, John E. Mann, III; one sister Vivian Edwards; and his step-father, Samuel "Buck" Melton.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall
of St. John's Episcopal Church. At other times they will be at the home at 12375 NC Hwy. 39 North.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, PO box 974, Henderson, NC 27563.
The family would like to give a special "thank you" to Gentiva Hospice (formerly Community Home Health and Hospice) for the compassionate and loving care given to John in his final days.
