Died.

Ashby. - In Fredonia, Sunday, April 5, 1903, Richard W. Ashby,of a complication of diseases, aged 76 years and 20 days.

The deceased was born in Kentucky March 16, 1827. When a child his parents moved to Indiana. At the age of 21 he was married to America Lane and to this union 13 children, 7 boys and 6 girls, were born. In 1884 he moved to Kansas, living here until his death. Mr. Ashby united with the Christian church, 24 years ago and was a faithful member. His health had been failing for two years and he always bore his suffering patiently. Last Friday night, realizing that the end was near, he remarked that the "was ready to meet his God." A wife and eight children survive him. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Monday at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. M.J. Duncan, and burial was made in the Koger cemetery in Talleyrand - tp.

Richard Ashby died at his home in this city last Sunday, aged about 74 years. The funeral was held Monday forenoon at 10 o'clock, at the Christian church and interment was made in a cemetery about 10 miles south of Fredonia.
