He was born Feb 2, 1911, to George and Elizabeth (Butherus) Schissler in Walter, Russia.
Ted came to the Greeley area as an infant with his parents in the spring of 1911. He grew up and attended school in the Big Bend, East Ward and Ashton areas. On Sept. 17, 1932, he married Helen Hill. To this union a son and three daughters were born. They later divorced. He farmed and raised beef cattle in the Kersey area. On Sept. 1, 1968, he married Laila Ware at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greeley. He retired in 1974 and they moved to Greeley.
He was a former member of the Grange and Farm Bureau, a lifelong member of St. Paul's Congregational Church, and the Extra Years of Zest Club.
Survivors are his wife, Laila of Greeley; three daughters; a son; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; two step-daughters; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. A brother, John is deceased.
