Charles Berg, 85, Retired Refinery Worker, Is Dead
Charles Berg, 85, a retired refinery worker, died at his home in Smethport Sunday, August 14.
Mr. Berg was born in GOtland, Sweden, Jan 24, 1870. He came to the US at the age of 11, settling first as a young man in Minnesota and coming to this section of Pennsylvania in 1888, where he was employed as a teamster. He later worked in tne local oil fields and at the Quaker Sate Oil Refinery Corp until his retirement in 1939.
Surviving are 3 sons, Carl Berg, Smethport, Archie Berg, Monaca, Pa and Robert Berg of Bradford, one daughter, Mrs. Edith Gustafson, Smethport; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
