DRYDEN, Va. — Helen Davis Adams, age 80 journeyed to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 2, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN.
She was a devoted Christian and a member of Dryden United Methodist Church. She has resided in Lee Health and Rehab Center in Pennington Gap, VA, where she was tenderly cared for since 2002.
She was preceded in death by her father, The Rev. E.R. Davis; mother, Marguerite Davis; step-mothers, Mildred Parsons Davis and Edith Poteet Davis; and several infant brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Lee Health and Rehab, to the staff of 6300 wing of Johnson City Medical Center, Drs. Sheri Holmes and Roland K. Huffaker. Your loving care and concern will remain in our hearts forever.
Calling hours are from 6 until 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, at Dryden United Methodist Church, of Dryden, VA.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Dryden United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Ledger officiating.
Mrs. Adams will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Pallbearers will be Jerry Light, Todd Light, Matthew Light, Adam Ely, Jeff Day, Ryan Day, Donnie Hobbs and Shawn Stewart.
Flowers will be accepted but memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.
